EU rights agency’s civic-space survey

The EU’s Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA) is asking people working in the civic space to complete a survey on the challenges faced in their day-to-day work over the past 12 months.

This survey is open to all civil-society organisations – including associations, unions, and NGO’s (non-governmental organisations) – working in an EU member state.

The agency says that the responses will allow it to identify challenges and trends over time, and ways forward on how to address them.

The survey asks about the organisation’s experiences in the following fields:

  • General situation of civil society,
  • Funding,
  • Attacks, their impact, and reporting,
  • Protection,
  • Enabling regulatory environment, and
  • Access to decision-making and participation.

The survey link will remain active until 7 April.
