Finance team in running for accountancy awards

The Law Society’s finance team has been nominated for three awards at the Irish Accountancy Awards.

The team has been shortlisted for the ‘Finance Team of the Year’ award.

It is also in the running for two other prizes – ‘Best Use of Technology in Accounting and Finance’ and ‘Finance Project of the Year’.

New payment system

Both of these awards were linked to the integration of NoFrixion, a new payment system to streamline card and electronic (EFT) payments, into the division’s work.

The finance-project nomination is related to the use of the NoFrixion system for the renewal of Practising Certificates (PCs).

The finance team launched EFT payments through NoFrixion for the renewal of 2025 PCs in December 2024.

It says that the use of the system has led to “significantly improved” processing times for PC applications, as well as same-day issuance of certificates.

The awards ceremony takes place on 1 May at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre.
