Total Reputation founder Teri Kelly
Public-relations firm to directly target legal sector
A new communications business, Total Reputation, has launched in Ireland to help solicitors’ firms build and protect their reputation to win more clients, attract top talent and standout in the crowded legal marketplace.
Founded by Teri Kelly, who recently left her role as Director of Representation and Member Services at the Law Society of Ireland, Total Reputation will serve legal practices both north and south of the border.
Founder Teri Kelly, said, “At Total Reputation, we turn our clients' reputations into their competitive advantage by harnessing the power of communications. Total Reputation is not like other communications firms.
"We take an evidence-based approach to ensure communications are supporting our client's goals at every step. There’s no guesswork —just measurable results."
Gap in market
Total Reputation aims to fill a gap in the market by offering dedicated communications and marketing services to the legal profession by providing strategic communications, public relations, web and social media services, and crisis communications preparedness.
Teri Kelly said, “I’ve worked closely with law firms for over a decade, so I intimately understand the time pressures they face. Managing partners are focused on serving their clients and running the firm and, even though they know it’s important, communications often slips down the list of priorities.
“I started the legal service in Total Reputation because I see a massive opportunity for those firms that do invest in building their brand and reputation. The payoffs can be huge. Even with a very simple communications strategy, firms can win more clients, attract and retain talent and be more resilient during downturns or in the face of a reputation crisis. It’s an immediate strategic advantage.
“Total Reputation offers tailored solutions including a full-service communications service, where we look after everything for the firm - from web communications and social media to PR and media coverage. We've tried to provide something for everyone.
"For smaller firms, for example, we can help them establish their web or social media presence or promote themselves in the local newspaper. For larger firms, we offer full communications audits and communications strategy development.”
Communications remit
Over the past 11 years, Kelly led a comprehensive communications remit for the Law Society.
Her role spanned public relations, digital communications, large-scale branding initiatives, and a variety of member services.
During her time at the Law Society, she spearheaded media and member communications for major policy changes, such as Marriage Equality, the Divorce Referendum, and Family Law reform.
Teri Kelly also oversaw a complete rebrand and digital overhaul, resulting in a 42% rise in annual website visits to over 2.7 million.
Kelly was also instrumental in introducing new mental-health and wellbeing supports for solicitors — now considered among the most comprehensive among professional bodies globally.
