Global law firm White & Case has eliminated its diversity and inclusion (D&I) policy from its website, including in its British arm, in a move believed to be in response to increasing legal pressure from the Trump administration.
The firm confirmed that it had replaced its D&I function with an initiative focused on professional-skills training and engagement for non-partner lawyers and business professionals.
The move follows heightened scrutiny from the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), which is probing diversity hiring practices among top law firms.
White & Case, recognised for previous diversity efforts, joins other firms such as Freshfields, which has also adjusted its online D&I messaging.
