The Law Society Diploma Centre has launched its programme of courses for spring 2026.
Running from February onwards, the offering includes a range of in-depth certificates and diplomas, as well as the LLM Advanced Legal Practice.
Courses will delve into a range of topics – including commercial contracts, corporate law and governance, pensions law, company secretarial, and much more.
Starting on 25 February, this course is designed to provide in-house lawyers and aspiring in-house lawyers with a comprehensive understanding of the varied, challenging, and stimulating work undertaken in both the private and public sectors.
It will examine several substantive legal topics – including setting up and managing an in-house function, ethics, privilege, commercial contracts, negotiations, ESG reporting, and strategic thinking.
This course will provide a comprehensive practical overview of the current legislative framework in the planning and environmental realms.
The overall objective is to assist practitioners in determining what planning and environmental legislation applies and how this affects clients.
The course starts on 3 March.
This course will provide practitioners with a comprehensive overview of the law governing healthcare, as well as analysis and insights in relation to the relevant practice and procedure.
In the first half of the course, the focus is on medical-negligence claims. The second section of the course will cover the areas of medical records and data protection, constitutional rights, and healthcare regulation.
It begins on 5 February.
Run in partnership with the Leeds Law School at Leeds Beckett University, this programme provides solicitors and trainee solicitors with the opportunity to use their qualification as a building block to achieve a recognised academic qualification.
Candidates undertake in-depth study of an agreed legal topic under individual tutor supervision.
The programme starts on 2 March with an induction day, followed by self-paced, independent research under supervision.
Starting on 11 February, participants in this certificate course will be brought through the application of the law by experienced data-protection practitioners and privacy consultants from private practice, the public sector, and from large multinationals.
There is a strong focus on the GDPR and how to apply it in practice.
This course will ensure that participants are equipped to deal with the compliance issues that arise in practice.
Diploma Centre courses are open to solicitors, trainees, barristers, and suitably qualified professionals.
Courses are designed with the busy professional in mind, and all lectures are available to view on demand, offering maximum flexibility and supporting practitioners in meeting their CPD requirements.
