Dublin pair among 17 new Dechert partners

Two Dublin-based lawyers, Dan Morrissey and David Layden, are among 17 promoted to become partners by international law firm Dechert.

Morrissey (small picture) is a counsel in Dechert's Dublin office and a member of the firm’s financial-services group, with a particular focus on private funds.

He has been with Dechert since 2022.

Layden, who has been with the firm since 2017, advises on the structuring, establishment, management, and marketing of investment funds and fund platforms domiciled in a range of onshore and offshore jurisdictions for British, US, and European asset managers.

Funds growth

Carol Widger (managing partner, Dublin office) said that the promotions reflected the continued growth of Dechert’s private-funds platform in Ireland and globally.

“Dan and David are outstanding private-funds lawyers – combining technical excellence with pragmatic, commercial insight – and their leadership will further strengthen the market‑leading service we deliver to sponsors and investors,” she stated.

The 17 global promotions are effective from 1 January and represent six of the firm’s global practices and eight offices across the US, Britain, and Ireland.
