Entries for 2025 Justice Media Awards open
Entries for the Law Society’s Justice Media Awards 2025 are now open.
The winners of the awards – the longest continuously running media awards in Ireland –will be announced at the Law Society on Thursday 19 June.
The awards recognise outstanding print and broadcast journalism that contributes to the public’s understanding of justice, the legal system, and legal issues.
Last year, the awards received a record-breaking 400 entries, with 120 of these making the shortlist.
16 categories
This year, a new category, Print/online journalism (feature), has been introduced to recognise the quality of long-form journalism in Irish media.
This category welcomes long-form articles, in-depth interviews, and investigative journalism across online and print platforms.
There are 16 categories open for entries:
- Print/online journalism (daily),
- Print/online journalism (Sunday),
- Print/online journalism (feature),
- Print/online journalism (local),
- Broadcast journalism (radio – national),
- Broadcast journalism (radio – local),
- Broadcast journalism (podcast),
- Broadcast journalism (TV/video),
- Court reporting (print/online),
- Court reporting (broadcast),
- Human rights/social justice reporting (print/online),
- Human rights/social justice reporting (broadcast),
- Environmental law/climate justice reporting (all channels),
- International justice reporting (all channels),
- Newcomer of the year (all channels),
- Student journalism (all channels).
The deadline for entries is at 5pm on Wednesday 12 March.
