Solicitors’ views sought for ADR survey

The Bar of Ireland is seeking the views of legal practitioners and other professionals for a report on alternative dispute resolution (ADR).

The survey will feed into an upcoming State of ADR in 2025 Report, which will compile perspectives from mediators, arbitrators, adjudicators, and other ADR professionals.

As well as barristers, the Bar is looking for input from other professions who are often involved in resolving these disputes, such as solicitors, engineers, accountants, and surveyors.

‘Unique opportunity’

The survey will run for the month of February and the subsequent report will be free for practitioners and businesses to read.

“This survey offers a unique opportunity for professionals across various fields to contribute their perspectives on the trends, benefits, and challenges within ADR,” said Cathy Smith SC (chair of the Bar’s ADR Committee).

“Each practitioner in the ADR space has the potential to bring the uniqueness of their profession to the outcome,” she added.
