PC application date looms for solicitors

Solicitors are gently reminded to submit their 2025 Practising Certificate (PC) application to the Law Society.

The online form, together with the full payment of fees, must be received on or before Saturday 1 February.

To submit your PC application, login at www.lawsociety.ie/pc

Please also ensure that employment information and practising status are up to date.

It’s easy to edit, update and maintain details online.

Statutory deadline

Saturday 1 February 2025 is a statutory deadline so it’s important to ensure you submit forms and payment in good time.

If received after 1 February, solicitors will be required to apply to the President of the High Court to have their PC backdated to 1 January.

EFT payments reference number

It’s very important when making an EFT payment to use the correct format for the reference number on the bank transaction – only use the reference number provided on the downloaded EFT form ‘REG-6XXXXX-S123-S1234’.

This will help to ensure your PC will issue without delay.

If you need assistance during the application period, Law Society staff are ready to help:

Law Society membership also comes with a wide range of services, including access to the award-winning Gazette, the digital Law Directory, library services, newsletters with practice guidance and training updates, and wellbeing supports.
