DLA Piper to recruit David Cameron as advisor

Former British Conservative Party prime minister David Cameron is in talks to join global law firm DLA Piper. 

The Financial Times reports that the talks could see Cameron in a geopolitical risk-advisory role.

DLA Piper, which has an office in Dublin, has a 35-strong government-affairs practice.

Former British home secretary, Labour’s Lord David Blunkett, also joined the firm as an advisor last year.

Cameron was Britain’s prime minister between 2010 and 2016, resigning after calling a binary-vote Brexit referendum that was won by the Vote Leave campaign, by a narrow margin.

Foreign Secretary

Last year, he was appointed as British Foreign Secretary, and also chaired the advisory board of software company Afiniti, from which he resigned in 2021 after its founder was accused of sexual harassment and assault.

Cameron also lobbied for British financial firm Greensill Capital before it collapsed in 2021.
