‘Law and Technology’ book to cover data transfers

Bloomsbury author Dr David Cowan’s latest title Law and Technology will be launched shortly at the Royal Society of Antiquaries on Merrion Square, Dublin 2.

The book launch, from 4-6.30 pm on Thursday 5 February, will include a panel discussion.

Speakers will include Mr Justice Frank Clarke, Michael O’Doherty BL, and William Fry technology partner Barry Scannell.

Law and Technology is an authoritative text for practitioners and a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional courses in the discipline, as well as a reference on the impact of technology on other legal disciplines, for example company law, criminal law and the law of torts.

The cases analysed cover such issues as data transfer from the EU to US for commercial purposes, ransomware attack, data retention, data protection, surveillance, right to privacy, data misuse, artificial intelligence, internet jurisdiction, online hate, and online harassment and stalking.
