Law Society invites feedback on civil-law bill

The Law Society says that it would welcome any comments from solicitors on draft legislation on civil law published earlier this month.

The General Scheme of the Civil Reform Bill 2025 includes an overhaul of the judicial-review process, while it also proposes new rules on discovery.

The Law Society has been invited to make a submission to the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Justice, Home Affairs, and Migration on the bill.

The organisation’s policy department is currently drafting a submission and would welcome any comments from practitioners on aspects of the proposals by 4 February.

Practitioners should send feedback to policyteam@lawsociety.ie.
