A prominent leader in national policy and higher education, Claire McGee was also head of education and innovation policy at Ibec.
Interim chair of TUA Professor Vincent Cunnane said: “I would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to Claire on her appointment as CEO of the Technological Universities Association. Her appointment shows the depth of ambition that exists within the sector and its role and function as a professional advocacy body.
Claire brings a wealth of experience from both her tenure in Ibec, at the forefront of Ireland’s economic and social development, he said.
Dynamic
Claire McGee said “Working with so many dynamic and committed colleagues in the Law Society and across the profession has been a real privilege and an incredible experience.
“Together we contribute to work that truly matters. Whether it’s improving access to civil legal aid so families feel protected during challenging times, helping secure greater efficiencies in the housing market so people can move into their homes faster, or shaping the policy and legislative frameworks so that Ireland remains a great place to do business.
“This is important work. It affects people’s day-to-day lives and contributes to Ireland’s social and economic progress.
“The law is ultimately a people-focused profession – this resonates strongly with me,” she told Gazette.ie.
