Workshop on handling difficult conversations

Law Society Skillnet has organised a practical workshop aimed at providing those in managerial roles with the skills to handle difficult conversations, and to communicate clearly in challenging situations.

Participants will learn how to manage and control their input, and how to handle difficult people.

Role play during the workshop will help participants to put what they have learned into practice.

After completing this workshop, managers will be able to:

  • Communicate in critical conversations in a clear, confident and assertive way,
  • Know when to ‘speak up’, and when to ‘shut up’,
  • Gain the confidence to make their case in the presence of more senior people, as well as with difficult people,
  • Participants will also learn when and how to ‘say no’, and how to manage difficult questions.

Manage staff

The workshop is open to all those who manage staff and takes place in-person at the Law Society on Tuesday, 26 July 2022 (9.30am to 12.30pm).
