Cork duo take plunge with new legal practice

A new legal practice, called ODS Solicitors, has opened in Cork city.

The practice, co-founded by solicitors Annette and Helene O’Donovan, provides legal expertise across a broad range of services including litigation, family law, property, commercial, wills and probate.

The firm’s offices are situated a short distance from Cork Circuit Court at Crosses Green.

Renewable energy a growth area

Annette Sheehan specialises in family law and was named Munster Family Law Solicitor of the Year in 2018. She also sits on the Law Society Family Law Committee.

“It had always been our goal to open our own firm. We decided to take the opportunity when it arose, despite the current pandemic, and we are delighted with how our business has grown since we opened,” she said.

Co-founder Helene O'Donovan has a particular expertise in corporate law, and has advised large multinational companies on land and conveyancing matters.

She also has an interest in renewable energy projects and sees this is a potentially significant growth area for the practice.

“The area of renewable energy is continuing to grow and demands a great level of legal counsel in relation to regulations, planning, financing, consents and the construction phase,” she said.
