Irish women lawyers win ‘Europe’ awards

Irish-based legal firms have won a number of prizes at the Women in Business Law Awards Europe 2020.

At the virtual ceremony, Arthur Cox was named as ‘Best Irish Law Firm’, ‘Best National Firm for Minority Women Lawyers’, and ‘Best National Firm for Talent Management’.

Partner Maura McLaughlin (pictured) took the ‘Best in Capital Markets: Equity’ award, while another partner, Deirdre O’Mahony was named as ‘Rising Star in Litigation’.

Three prizes for Matheson

Matheson took three awards, with Sharon Daly named ‘Best in Litigation’, Ruth Hunter ‘Best in Technology, Media and Communications’, and Catherine O'Meara ‘Best in Transfer Pricing’.

Niamh O’Shea of the Maples Group was named as a ‘Rising Star in Finance’ and Aisling Gannon of Eversheds Sutherland won the ‘Best in Insurance and Reinsurance’ prize.

The awards celebrate women lawyers across Europe and recognise firms for their efforts in promoting gender diversity and the advancement of women in the legal profession.
