Liam Moloney is appointed Slovenian Honorary Consul

Personal injury solicitor Liam Moloney has been appointed Honorary Consul in Ireland for the Republic of Slovenia.

Mr Moloney was recently nominated by the Slovenian Government to the position of Honorary Consul and the Irish Government accepted the nomination.

Economic interests

The main function of an Honorary Consul is to encourage and promote business, trade and economic interests between the sending and the receiving country.

Liam Moloney will have jurisdiction over the southern counties in Ireland.

Commenting, he said: ‘’I am delighted to have been nominated by the Slovenian Government to be its Honorary Consul in Ireland.

“Slovenia has been an independent State since 1991 and has a vibrant workforce. The main economic driver in Slovenia is the service industry followed by manufacturing and construction.

"In my new role I will be working to promote greater co-operation between Irish and Slovene companies in these areas along with the tourism sector.’’

Travel law

Liam qualified as a solicitor in 1995 and has been in practice on his own since 1999. His firm has offices in Dublin city and Naas and specialises in personal injury and overseas travel law cases.

He is currently an executive board member of the Pan European Organisation for Personal Injury Lawyers (PEOPIL) along with being a member of the board of governors for Ireland and the UK of the trial lawyers organisation the American Association for Justice (aaj.org).
