Linklaters to shed support staff in redundancy round

London magic circle firm Linklaters is offering voluntary redundancy packages to 225 of its capital-based legal secretaries and executive assistants.

The news comes as the firm’s lawyers have been told they will carry on working from home for up to half of the week, post-pandemic.

Agile working

Linklaters said it was focused on “a more agile working policy for the longer term”.

Employees will work remotely for between one-fifth and half of the working week.

Secretarial and business services teams have been hardest hit by recent redundancy rounds in large legal firms.
