Matheson wins Chambers Europe Irish prize

Matheson has been named ‘Ireland Law Firm of the Year 2021’ at this year’s Chambers Europe Awards.

Another Irish law firm, A&L Goodbody, was named as ‘Outstanding Firm for Pro Bono’ at the virtual ceremony, which took place last night (22 April).

Matheson was described by Chambers Europe interviewees as “a premium firm offering a premium service”, and managing partner Michael Jackson said the firm was pleased to have received such positive feedback from clients and peers.

Competitive

“We operate in an increasingly competitive marketplace and, while this award reflects our continued growth and increased market share, we also believe that it is a reflection of the continuing commitment and skill demonstrated by the teams across our business and the support of our clients,” he said.

The awards also highlighted A&L Goodbody’s leadership role in establishing the new Pro Bono Pledge Ireland, as well as the significant social impact of its partnerships with the Irish Refugee Council, Spirasi, and Focus Ireland/Mercy Law Resource Centre.

The firm’s managing partner, Julian Yarr, said the award was a reflection of the investment and “fantastic work” done by its pro bono practice over many years.
