Moot win a first for Law Society team

The Law Society of Ireland team has won the Northern Europe regional round of the Monroe E Price Media Law Moot Court Competition, the first Irish team to do so.

The team was also placed in the global rounds and has been competing in the preliminary stages for the advanced rounds.

The team members are:

  • Rebecca McKittrick (A&L Goodbody),
  • Laura Dunne (Arthur Cox),
  • Shay Buckley (Arthur Cox),
  • Conor Forde (William Fry),
  • Bríd Mackle (Mason Hayes and Curran),
  • and Laura Kirwan (Orpen Franks).

The competition was started in 2008 by the Programme in Comparative Media Law and Policy at Oxford University and is run by the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights.
