Passport office to reopen on move to Level Four

The Passport Service will reopen for standard service offerings once Ireland moves to Level 4 on the COVID framework, the Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed.

Since the introduction of Level 5 restrictions on 24 December, the Passport Service has only operated an essential emergency service.

Processing paused

Processing of routine applications has been paused while Ireland is on Level 5 restrictions.

Passport Service staff have been temporarily reassigned to provide consular assistance for Irish citizens overseas.
