Process for civil applications streamlined

The President of the High Court, Justice Mary Irvine, has issued a new practice direction which covers written submissions and issue papers.

The Courts Service says Practice Direction HC97 will transform and streamline how certain civil applications are made.

Authorities

The High Court President has also issued the associated Court eBooks of Authority. A list of the authorities contained in the High Court’s own Book of Authorities is available on the Court Service website as of today (18 September) and will be kept updated.

This will remove the requirement on practitioners to file key authorities which will be retained by the court.

The direction comes into force on 5 October 2020.
