Search for new NI chief justice begins

The recruitment process to appoint a new Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland has been officially launched.

It was announced earlier this year that the current holder of the post, Sir Declan Morgan, would be retiring.

He will now convene a selection panel which will make a recommendation on the appointment.

  • A member of the Bar of Northern Ireland of at least ten years’ standing,

  • A solicitor of the Court of Judicature of Northern Ireland of at least ten years’ standing.
