Top speakers lined up for IRLI commercial law event

The Irish Rule of Law International (IRLI) annual Commercial Law Conference will take place online on 8 October at 5pm.

The event will be hosted and sponsored by McCann FitzGerald and chaired by Mr Justice David Barniville.

  • Barrister Rossa Fanning will speak on ‘Merck Sharp & Dohme v Clonmel Healthcare Limited [2019] IESC 65; the new Campus Oil?’, a paper by Anthony Slein BL,
  • Michael Humphreys QC will speak on ‘Technology and the courts in the age of COVID', by Anna Rowan BL,
  • Karyn Harty, partner McCann FitzGerald, will speak on ’Competing on the global stage – Ireland as a choice of jurisdiction’ by Ciara Fitzgerald, senior associate,
  • Stephen Dowling SC will speak on ‘Summary judgment in the Commercial Court: The impact of recent decisions of the Superior Courts and the Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020’, by Alannah McGurk BL.

CPD points

There are two CPD points available for attendance. Tickets can be booked online and cost €30 for general admission and €10 for students and the newly-qualified.

All proceeds will go towards supporting the work of IRLI and donations to the organisation are also very welcome.
