Two hires at DLA Piper in regulation and competition

Central Bank enforcement division lawyer Eimear O’Brien has joined DLA Piper Ireland’s financial services regulatory practice, where she will specialise in banking regulation, retail financial services, payments, insurance regulation and fintech. 

Eimear O’Brien previously worked in Matheson’s financial institutions group.

Brussels

Meanwhile, Darach Connolly has joined the firm to lead the competition team, from Van Bael & Bellis in Brussels.

Prior to that he spent seven years at Matheson, where he was an associate on the firm’s EU, competition and regulatory team.

He has specialised experience working on complex competition and consumer matters across a wide variety of industries in Europe and Ireland, with a particular focus on the food, consumer, technology and life sciences sectors.
