The Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) identity card, originally created in 1978, facilitates access to courts and institutions for lawyers for lawyers who are required to practise outside their home jurisdiction. It identifies the card holder in the official languages of the CCBE, as an admitted lawyer in the country concerned. The card is also recognised by the European Court of Justice and Court of First Instance.

The Law Society will issue the card to members following completion of the form below, provision of a suitable photograph (in JPG format) and payment of the €25 administration fee.

If you have any queries, please contact the Law Society Records Section.
