disAbility Legal Network
In line with our Gender, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (GEDI) policy, the Law Society signed a pledge to become an Ally of the disAbility Legal Network, underlining our commitment to increasing disability awareness, embrace inclusive and accessible workplaces and facilitate opportunities for networking.
As an Ally, we have pledged to work towards a more inclusive legal sector by continuing to:
-
help in bringing about a greater understanding and awareness of disability in the legal sector, such as access to courses offered by Law Society Professional Training.
-
support members seeking to find networking opportunities and make professional connections.
-
improve accessibility for our staff, trainee solicitors, members of the legal profession and others making use of our digital and in-house services, attending Law Society events or courses and visiting our workplaces. See our Technology Committee’s list of 12 software tools to support inclusion in your firm.
About the Network
The disAbility Legal Network was set up as an independent body in 2021, following discussions hosted by the Law Society with trainees, solicitors and company secretaries. Allies include law firms, other employers in the legal sector and representative bodies. For more information, resources, the pledge form and upcoming events, visit the disAbility Legal Network.
