Experts in litigation, conveyancing and probate address Leitrim solicitors
Solicitors from across Leitrim, Longford, Roscommon and Sligo attended the Essential Solicitor Update 2022, a major legal conference which took place in the Landmark Hotel, Carrick on Shannon on Thursday 12 May 2022
Organised by Law Society Skillnet in partnership with Leitrim, Longford, Roscommon and Sligo Bar Associations, the conference was the first in an annual series of specialised training events designed to support local solicitors in communities throughout Ireland to upskill on topics relevant to practice.
Solicitor Peter Collins is President of Leitrim Bar Association and attended the event, which was held in person for the first time since 2019. He said, “It was heartening to see an in-person return to the Essential Solicitor Update this year.”
“Over the last two years we have seen a surprising but necessary evolution in the way we work. Solicitors have adapted to new ways of working and embraced innovative technology to meet evolving client needs, as well as keep up-to-date on practice changes.
“The conference offered a long-awaited opportunity for local colleagues to come together, collaborate and share ideas so that we could upskill and become better informed for the benefit of our clients. This was welcomed by all as solicitors typically engage closely together to share knowledge and experiences so we can provide the best possible legal services for the people and businesses in our respective communities.”
Upskilling
Commenting on the significance of the Law Society conference, Mr Collins said, “We are grateful to have a panel of experts come together and relay their knowledge so that clients in Leitrim can have peace of mind that their local solicitor can provide the most informed advice.”
“Thanks to the Essential Solicitor Update 2022, local solicitors are now up-to-date in essential areas of practice, including buying and selling houses, wills and probate and litigation. If you need trusted legal advice on all matters of life and business, talk to your local solicitor.”
