Notaries Public

Any member of the public, Irish persons or not, can go to any Irish Notary to have documents notarised, usually at the Notary’s office, which documents may then be used anywhere in the world. It does not matter where the client lives or works.

Most notarisations are performed in the Notary’s office where the Notary is based. Sometimes the Notary is asked to travel to another place to perform the notarisation. Unlike the client, the Notary may not travel outside his/her own ‘district’ to sign the notarisation. The ‘district’ to which the Notary is confined normally means the county where the Notary is based, but often includes immediately adjoining counties. If asking the Notary to travel away from his/her office to perform the notarisation, especially if that means crossing a county boundary, do check with the Notary that he/she is authorised to notarise documents at the place where the documents are to be notarised.

Notary members of The Faculty of Notaries Public in Ireland are listed below by county, with further details, including branch offices, on the website www.notarypublic.ie.
