The Law Society Taxation Committee has an update for the profession on the Revenue Return Preparation Facility (RPF) and ROS offline. The Committee expects that over time the RPF will be replacing the ROS Offline application.

The first judgment delivered under the new Consumer Rights Act dealt with the high-profile case of Michael Flatley v Austin Group Limited and whether an arbitration clause could be imposed upon a ‘consumer’. Graham Kenny examines the case for the October 2024 Gazette.

The European Company Lawyers Association (ECLA) are inviting applications for their new Mentoring Project, by 31 October 2024. ECLA would welcome applications from in-house solicitors interested in being considered as mentors or mentees, including from Law Society of Ireland members. Details about ECLA’s Mentoring Project, including registration information, is available on their website.

Euronext Dublin, which runs the Irish stock exchange, has published its first corporate governance code for Irish companies. The Irish code will apply to Irish companies listed on the regulated market of Euronext Dublin for accounting years beginning on or after 1 January 2025.
