News

The media and online-safety regulator Coimisiún na Meán (CnaM) has begun a review of whether online platforms are adequately facilitating the reporting of illegal content.CnaM said that it was concerned that people were having difficulty reporting such content.

The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) has published decisions and recommendations from 12 to 20 August 2024. Topics covered include consideration of continuity of service under fixed-term contracts legislation, of changing a term for an Economic, Technical or Organisation reason under TUPE regulations, and more.

On 30 September, the Law Society of Ireland ADR Committee will host a side event as part of the upcoming Dublin International Disputes Week 2024.The seminar entitled ‘the Future of Dispute Resolution’ will feature an esteemed panel of domestic and international experts considering the transformative nature of AI in dispute resolution, further advancements and adaptations of legal tech, and future trends in litigation, arbitration and mediation.

Training

Booking is now open for the 2024 In-House and Public Sector Conference on 2 October. Centred on the theme of Innovating and Leading in Transformative Times, the conference features expert insight on the roles of lawyers in business and management and the art of leading in-house teams in top tier public and private sector organisations.
