Law Society introduces new suite of Micro-credentials
25/06/2025 11:40:45Level up your career with the new Law Society Micro-credentials - designed to fit around you.
These new short courses are designed to provide targeted, high-quality legal education and professional development, enabling learners to advance in key areas of law and practice through expert-led lectures and practical, skills-based workshops.
Whether you are looking to upskill, switch careers, or move up in your current role, micro-credentials make it easy to learn a lot in a short space of time. With topics including artificial intelligence, sports law, environmental law and climate change, and social media and the law, these micro-credentials are tailor-made to help you gain a competitive edge.
Stack your skills
Another advantage of micro-credentials is that they can be stacked over time to lead to a greater award over time. If you complete two micro-credentials, you will be awarded an advanced certificate. Completion of four micro-credentials leads to an advanced diploma. This means you can learn at your own pace.
More than that, by completing just one micro-credential, solicitors can claim up to 15 hours CPD. This represents a substantial proportion of the annual CPD requirements.
Global trends
These micro-credentials are a brand new addition to the Law Society’s extensive range of legal education offerings. Responding to global trends for evolving and more flexible education, the Law Society developed the new micro-credentials to meet that demand in Ireland.
The Law Society Micro-credentials are open to anyone working in the legal sector and the public.
