Probate Office delays

There are currently delays in obtaining copy documents from the Probate Office, as outlined on their website.

In particular, where a grant or certified copy grant is required in each case for registering transfers of land with Tailte Éireann, consider ordering certified copy grants while applying for the original grant where there are a number of folios to be transferred. For further information on this, visit the Courts website

Prize Bonds as part of an estate

When part of an estate includes prize bonds only, and not any other Ireland State Savings product, contact this address:

  • State Savings, Prize Bonds, Fexco Centre Killorglin FREEPOST, Co. Kerry V93 WN9T.

Include an original or certified copy of the Death Certificate and where there is a will available, a certified copy of same so Ireland State Savings can verify the executor.

Where there is no will, you must demonstrate that you are acting for the nearest next of kin.

As with any probate matter, any variations of name and addresses of the deceased and in this case, any available Prize Bonds certificates, confirmation letters or account information should be provided.  Ireland State Savings do not insist on a sample signature of the deceased where none is available.

Ireland State Savings will only require a grant of representation where the holding of prize bonds in the name of the deceased is over €25,000.
