Updates in the Court of Appeal office

The Courts Service introduced their Unified Case Management System (UCMS) to the Court of Appeal for Civil Appeals on 25 August.

Published:

This is part of their modernisation programme under the Courts Service Digital Strategy 2024–2027 to build a more accessible, digitally enabled courts system.

Benefits

The purpose of the UCMS is to:

  • streamline case management processes,
  • enhance operational efficiency, and
  • improve service delivery for all court users.

By replacing outdated legacy platforms, the new system should offer faster, more seamless case processing, along with enhanced data quality and strengthened security.

It also lays the foundation for future developments, including an online portal to support the electronic filing of documents.
