The update features

The process of booking courses and CPD has stayed the same for now, with improvements planned for the future.
All relevant content will be available on the updated website, though it may appear in a different section than before. We’ve taken the opportunity to update some older content and archive outdated information.

Periodical updates may be needed to maintain the site. We'll be scheduling these for off-peak times so this should not impact your user experience.
Yes, the redesigned website is fully responsive and optimised for mobile devices, tablets, and desktops. You can access all features and content on many device.
The upgraded website meets internationally recognised Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA which refers to a set of guidelines from the World Wide Web Consortium to make web content accessible to people with a range of disabilities.
This includes:
- improved keyboard navigation,
- better screen reader support,
- enhanced contrast and readability,
- clearer focus indicators, and
- accessible forms and menus.

The website is now organised around how solicitors work:
- Practice Areas: Resources grouped by legal specialism (conveyancing, regulation, etc.).
- Practice Management: Business tools (regulation, technology, practice development).
- Learning & CPD: All education and training in one place.
- Resources: Quick access to precedents, practice notes, and guidance.
- Updates & Events: Latest news, events, and legislative updates.
- Advanced filtering by content type, date, practice area and more
- More relevant results ranked by your needs
- Search within specific sections (e.g., search only Practice Notes)
- Progressive search results presented as you type your search query
Support
Your login details will remain the same. You can use your solicitor number plus password to login to the solicitor section of the website.
If you cannot log in, first check the following:
- Clear cookies and cache - if your browser has saved the older version of our site, you may need to clear your cache to reset your password or to log in so your new password will be accepted.
- Are you using the correct username and password? Solicitors must enter their solicitor number, including the S. The username for PPC trainees is their Law School email address - traineenumber@propc.ie. If you need, you can request a new password online.
If you are still having issues, please contact the webmaster.
- After you log in, you will be taken to the solicitor portal, which has been redesigned. Your name and work details will be displayed on the top left. You do not need to take any action here to continue to use the website as you would have before.
- The improvements in this section allow you to save or bookmark certain website pages you visit regularly, so you can find them in once place, and personalised reminders of important upcoming deadlines.
- More improvements are planned for the solicitor portal and will roll out over the next few months.
- If you notice your details are incorrect once logged in, we encourage you to update the details the Law Society has on file for you: www.lawsociety.ie/my-profile. These details are also used for Find a Solicitor and the Law Directory in 2026, as well as for your Practising Certificate Renewal.
You can access your PC renewal from within the solicitor portal at anytime or from the website homepage from 1 December.

Please note, the period of renewal is open from 1 December 2025. The deadline for submission of Practising Certificate (PC) applications, together with full payment of fees, is Sunday, 1 February 2026.
