Mark White appointed chair at McCann FitzGerald

McCann FitzGerald LLP has today (1 November) appointed Mark White as its chair and also promoted seven senior associates to ‘of counsel’.

White, who is a partner and head of the firm’s investment-management group, succeeds Catherine Deane as chair after her four-year term in the role.

The position of chair was established in 2019 to bolster governance and leadership structures in the business.

Those promoted to ‘of counsel’ are:

  • Clare Carroll,
  • Joyce Cunningham,
  • Martina Firbank,
  • Cormac Mac Diarmada,
  • Áine Murphy,
  • Stephen Ryan, and
  • Gerard Sadlier.

‘Of counsel’ positions are awarded to senior associates who show exceptional technical expertise and deliver outstanding client service.

Managing partner Stephen Holst said: “Strong leadership and fresh perspectives are central to how we evolve our practice to meet changing needs of our clients. I’m delighted to congratulate my colleagues on their promotions in recognition of their exceptional commitment, expertise and dedication to our firm’s growth.”

'Immense contribution'

He thanked Catherine Deane (small picture with White and Holst) for her “immense contribution” as chair over the past four years..

UCD graduate Mark White joined McCann FitzGerald in 1994.

He advises a wide variety of clients who are engaged in the promotion and management of all types of investment funds.
