William Fry advised EQT on software deal

Law firm William Fry was involved in advising private-equity firm EQT on its acquisition of a majority stake in Limerick-based software company AMCS.

AMCS, founded in 2003, provides specialised software used in waste management, recycling, and other resource-intensive industries.

William Fry, which worked with global law firm Clifford Chance on the deal, said that EQT would make the investment from EQT X, its flagship private-equity fund, and EQT Future, its longer-hold fund.

Minority stakes

The co-founder, management, and other existing investors are expected to retain minority stakes in AMCS.

The transaction is subject to customary conditions and approvals, and is expected to close before the first quarter of 2025.

William Fry acted as Irish counsel and Clifford Chance acted as lead global counsel on the cross-border transaction.
