Swiss lawyer takes over CCBE presidency

Swiss lawyer Pierre-Dominique Schupp officially assumed the position of President of the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) on 1 January 2024.

This follows his election at the CCBE’s plenary session on 24 November 2023.

Schupp (pictured) was the president of the Swiss Bar Association from 2009 to 2015, and he became a member of the Swiss delegation to the CCBE in 2016.

Within the CCBE, he contributed as an expert in the Insurance Committee and the European Convention Working Group.

The CCBE represents the Bars and Law Societies of 46 countries, and through them, more than one million European lawyers.
