CSSO training scheme open for applications

The Chief State Solicitor’s Office (CSSO) is now accepting applications for its 2025 trainee-solicitor scheme.

The CSSO is one of Ireland’s largest legal practices, employing over 180 solicitors and over 350 staff in total.

The office says that it is aiming to attract individuals with a strong public-service ethos who show “commitment, energy, and sound judgment”.

During the traineeship, trainees can expect to gain experience in different areas of legal practice by completing rotations.

‘Active practice’

The approach to training in the CSSO is for the trainee to be ‘hands-on’ and to learn through active practice in a fast-paced environment.

Trainees are also given the opportunity to work closely with other organisations, such as the Office of the Attorney General.

The CSSO covers all fees for the full-time Law Society Professional Practice Course that is due to start in September 2025.

The closing date for completed applications for the scheme is Wednesday 19 June (3pm).

Those applying are advised to read an information booklet.
